The shiny new MacBook Pro’s came out today with Retina Display and many other new features but one of the most notable things was how much more features the device has and how much smaller it is. Just check out the photo above!
Here are the actual specifics of it’s size.
- Height: 0.95 inch (2.41 cm) vs. 0.71 inch (1.8 cm)
- Width: 14.35 inches (36.4 cm) vs. 14.13 inches (35.89 cm)
- Depth: 9.82 inches (24.9 cm) vs. 9.73 inches (24.71 cm)
- Weight: 5.6 pounds (2.56 kg) vs. 4.46 pounds (2.02 kg)
Cook noted how it was smaller than than a human finger which is friggin impressive if you consider the technical specs of this beast of a machine. Honestly Apple truly is in a league of their own when it comes to design and performance of their products. They have so much focus on user experience that they are almost always greatly satisfied with their device. Hence the growing number of Mac users. However with all these amazing new features one thing that really surprised me was other blogs reactions to the price.
The new MBP with Retina display comes in at a staggering $2,199 for its entry level and goes up to $2,799. This is a huge increase in price considering the entry level price for last years was $1,299. However many blogs are saying, “only $2,199!” and people all over twitter were saying whatever it costs let me buy one right now, etc… It was crazy how many people were willing to drop over $2,000 for this computer. I love Apple but I am not sure I can justify that, I don’t know, you tell me, am I missing something? Tell me your thoughts on twitter or in the comments below.
